The Natural Man is an enemy to God. The Natural Man is racist. The Natural Man uses hate to progress an idea. The Natural Man destroys property that belongs to someone who has worked had for it. The Natural Man destroys friendships and family relationships via social media through being hateful instead of agreeing to disagree. How do we calm the Natural Man? First, we have to admit the Natural Man exists within us. I definitely have my Natural Man moments. I pray to strengthen myself to not have so many Natural Man moments. To change the Natural Man one doesn't embark on being a Natural Man. To change the Natural Man a mighty change of heart must occur. A mighty change of heart occurs through bringing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ into one's life. The mighty change of heart occurs when pray is humbly a part of one's day. The mighty change of heart occurs through placing all past injustices, perceived or real, at the feet of Jesus Christ. The mighty change of heart occurs when forgiveness replaces hate and anger. The mighty change of heart occurs when repentance replaces racism. The mighty change of heart occurs when we, as a society, truly can say that we "judge a man by the content of his character and not the color of his skin." The mighy change of heart occurs one by one. The mighty change of heart occurs after pride is released, and allows humility to instigate the change needed. Until society has the mighty change of heart, things will only get worse. Preaching through a megaphone does not create a mighty change of heart. When those who have experienced the mighty change of heart stand together, the Holy Ghost is so strong; He can calm the heart of the adversary. I've seen it happen even in these tumultuos times. The policman who hands over every thing on his belt to his co-workers to accept the breakdance challenge. The protester that walks up to the police officer and hugs him. The group of people that stood between the mob and the police to protect the police from flying glass. The group of people that stood around a statue allowing their silence, and the presence of the Holy Ghost to soften the hearts of the mob. Yes. We can have a mighty change of heart in society. But, it takes patience, and unity. Stand tall while on your knees praying to maintain the mighty change of heart, or to have the mighty change of heart. Strengthen the mighty change of heart through scripture reading, and daily prayer. One step at a time.

I was watching a church service on Sunday while waiting for our church service to start. I almost began to cry as I watched the preacher declare God's anger with us is being manifested through the calamities we are undergoing. There is no answer to this presentation, the preacher himself said that we had to stop sinning to stop the calamities, and God would keep them coming. Heavenly Father might be sad as He sees so many of His children stray from the path He has laid out. He, in turn, is sadder even still, when those who are following His path are harmed because of other's actions. I see politicians, media, and people in general make decisions that affect others in a detrimental way, or are in direct conflict with divine ways; and I make it through knowing that they will be held accountable for their actions, and for the harm they did to others through those actions. It is sometimes the only thing that gets me through. We have two different viruses coursing through the world today, both are unseen; both are devastating. One has yet to be determined if it was intentional or truly an accident, but it has wrought havoc among the countries of the world and sent economies spiraling. Some feel the public has been lied to, and that nefarious actors have created cruel intent. If this is so, it wasn't out of God's anger towards us, it was through the actions of those people, and they will be held accountable for it in God's time. The second virus is the virus of hatred, I don't want to use the 'r' word because it is overused. It is what it is, hatred. Again, God is not angry at us and is creating riots; He hurts as He sees the hatred and violence. That is people, people making their own choices to be instead of trying to be a part of the solution. And, I do feel we are further along than some believe, Lil' Wayne said that he, personally, has never been discriminated against, so this is a world to which he is not familiar. That's a bold statement. We have made strides. We can and will make more. And, Heavenly Father is pleased when this happens; He is saddened when people make harsh judgments based on hatred. Keep this in mind, Heavenly Father is NOT making anyone act because of His anger. He does not stay the hand of the person with evil intent. He comforts the heart of the person that is the victim of evil intent, if they allow it. Blessings from Heaven may come by way of a person calling at just the right moment, of someone being prompted to turn left instead of right on their familiar way to work. Many people on Sept. 11, 2001, were delayed by various reasons in their usual work day. Two FedEx drivers were stuck in traffic and didn't make it to the Trade Centers for their routes, packages were not going to arrive before 10, but the drivers' lives were spared. A CEO was delayed with the first day of kindergarten for one of his children, his life was spared. There were many stories as this, divine intervention, perhaps; just coincidence, perhaps. God's wrath has been few. However, cursings as a result of men's own actions are many. May we strive to walk the path that Heavenly Father has set for us, so that we may understand how to truly love our fellow man. |
